an etiquette request: addendum

so i'm bitching to brian last night on the way home about the incident that led to yesterday's post. "don't pick up the phone, blah blah blah, need my minutes, blah blah blah" etc.

i notice duckie's making some strange sounds from the back seat. they're not sounds that she's upset, and they're not really words, but whatever she's saying is mimicking my tone of voice exactly.

"she's making fun of me!" i sputter, partly impressed with her and partly embarrassed at the sound of my own obnoxious annoyance, echoing from the back seat.

"that's right," says brian. "you're teaching her early - nag, nag, nag, nag, nag, nag nag!" and the way he says it, it sounds distinctly goose-like.

i can't say he's wrong. and it's certainly enough to knock me off the horse of righteous indignation for a little - and enough to remind me to laugh at myself.

out of the mouths of babes...

Hey, Andi,

Yes, and doesn't it feel silly hearing your snark coming out of that little cherub?? Kinda takes the polish off all the swearing and such.

Made me think more than twice about what I was saying, having been thru that 3 times...

But sometimes, ya just hafta let loose. LOL

Hey Andi, Hope you're having a great Thanksgiving, and your family are all well and snug.

Hey Andi, are you OK, you haven't been around lately - you're probably very busy with the holidays and all, but I get worried if someone doesn't show for weeks.

Just letting you know you are missed...

hey, SB. yeah, i'm back, and i very much appreciate the concern.

happy to be back online - but i haven't dared the forum yet - i think i'd get lost for several hours just trying to catch up. i might have to take it in smaller doses for a few days just to read everything.

loved your santa, btw, and the fog pictures are wonderful. thought about you last night on the drive home - dark and rainy, sun setting, the bones of the trees stark against the sky. i love springtime, but something in me resonates to this season, especially now that we're blessed with some rainy days.
