a bright sunshine-y day

*****

You know, there’s just so much good stuff to write today.

Didja know it’s my two-year anniversary? No shit, I’ve been writing this thing for two years today.

I can’t stop grinning.

Even if Democrats don’t take the Senate (which I didn’t expect, anyway), I might have a chance to get my voice heard – now, finally, that I’ve found my voice. Heath Shuler was elected to the House of Representatives last night. Slammed Taylor right to the ground.

It’s hard for me not to be personally overwhelmed by that other anniversary, falling as it does (and will) on the eve of a national election.

But yeah, I’m hopeful. And cynical. And I’ve got some tools at my disposal now – including Congressman-Elect Shuler. It’s my right as a citizen to speak up. It’s my obligation as a responsible human being. And if I want a personal freaking interview with Mr. Shuler, I’m damned straight going to get it.

Because, really, let's not kid ourselves. This isn’t the end of the process. The work doesn’t stop here. Here is where it really begins.

Champagne sounds fun, and I wish I'd thought of it.

I'm so tired of seeing our govt do grand experiments (like the nclb fiasco, and the iraq fiasco). I just wish they would do more studies and adopt the methods that WORK BEST, according to all available evidence, rather than pulling this sh*t out of their asses and forcing it on us.
