A Prayer for Survivors

bad poetry to describe indescribable loss.

*************************************************************

thank you Kali
thank you for sparing me for one more day
thank you for your gift of creation and motherhood
thank you for the joy in my daughter’s eyes when she wakes
thank you for every scream she cries when she doesn’t get what she wants
thank you for the way she hogs my pillow at night
thank you for the dirty crappy diapers I change every day and even for the time I threw up
trying to clean up her vomit, yes even for that
thank you for the honor of holding her tiny soft hand as she falls asleep every night
thank you for entrusting me with her life
thank you for the gift of this love
thank you forever

please comfort them Kali
I know it’s not your nature but
comfort them for the loss of their children
comfort them in their grief, they who have known all that I have known
and now are lost without love
those who have respected you, those who have worshipped you
and those who have lost their babies to your darkness
comfort them in their grief, they who have known all that I have known

and now more

Had a bit of time to kill today Andi so I was sniffing out info on nordman Fir Christmas Trees for a project I'm working on. Your post this post came up when I searched on nordman Fir Christmas Trees. So thanks for an interesting read, glad I found it even though it's not completely related to what I was looking for! I'll look back from time to time if that's OK. Bye for now

Here are some things you can do to help your child develop. Show your child that you care about him/her and that you are dependable. Children who feel loved are more likely to be confident. Your child must believe that, no matter what, someone will look out for him/her. Give your baby or toddler plenty of attention, encouragement, hugs and lap time. Set a good example. Children imitate what ever they see?
