i keep meaning to write a duckdate - the baby has been growing up so quickly recently that it would be a shame not to write it down for posterity, if for no other reason.
but this morning i read a poem posted by my friend sam (who inspired me to start this blog in the first place), and it struck me as incredibly beautiful. i don't know how she feels about cross-posts, so i'll just link to it, but please do go and read it when you have a spare moment, and when you want to be reminded of how gorgeous the world, and the people in it, can be. It's called Grandmother's Curse.

Awww! Mooo! :D Thank you SO much Andi! It means worlds to me that you would feel and think and say these things! I hold your opinion as an artist and an interpreter of art very highly. Thank you. :)
As far as I know, you are the only person who has read this. (I sent my sister an email with this in it before I posted it, but she hasn't written back - not that I blame her...) When I posted this on my blog, you were my single imagined audience, so I'm delighted that I truly reached my audience! How many artists can say that with such certainty? :)
And for future ref, you are welcome to cross-post me ANY time, no matter WHAT i'm blathering on about! :) Thanks also for your last e, for reaching across the gap. That means even more than the high compliments. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance for a real reply, life is even more 'on the fly' than usual these days *whew*! It's probably a good thing that I only have intermittent net access these days - i spend a lot o f time thinking, and goddess knows i need THAT! I'm glad to see you feeling hopeful.
